But, seriously, MAJOR lack of participation. C'mon guys, my question doesn't scare you, does it? I promise, I can handle whatever you guys can dish out. I will just ask it until I get an answer. So; What does it mean to you to believe? I will answer it, I promise, but you guys always come first, okay? :)
So, anyway, life goes on. I have been writing a really different kind of story. It is about a mentally unstable teen who has to deal with the death of the only person who ever really loved her. Yup, pretty intense. But it doesn't just focus on that. Something strange happens to her. Yes, she is suicidal, and I know that is a tough topic (trust me, I know. I've been there) and I am NOT treating it as a joke, or using it for mere entertainment. This is a serious subject, and it needs to be addressed. Too many people think the world revolves around them, and they don't think about the consequences. Sure, it may turn out to be fun and exciting, but that just goes to show; life isn't over when you think it is, and it doesn't have to be dark and lonely, so will everyone just quit saying that? This hopefully novel I am writing, will explore the goods and bads, the mind set of this troubled girl, and show her that life can be good.
The quote I made for my story (and yes, I did just randomly make it up) is:
“When one is lost, they
are then in a position to be found. It is only a matter of searching.”
Coincidentally, the title is:
When One is
Lost
Yup. So, if you care to read it, just comment, and I might decide to post a few bits. Oh, by the way, for those of you who didn't know, check out both (yes, I changed it) of my other pages for pieces of a few of my stories.
So, for lack of a better/more brilliant thing to say, Chow! xD
Excuse me for being a bit... dumbfounded, but what exactly are you talking about when asking "what does it mean to you to believe?" Are we talking about God or I mean.. what?
ReplyDeleteAnything. Anything that involves believing. It doesn't matter. I would love to hear it all!
DeleteOh, well in that case... I do believe in God XD Um.. yeah. I believe that Obama is a hopeless case, Michelle Obama is too tall, Miley Cyrus needs to chill out, The Vampire Diaries should not have finished so soon! Sorry, that's totally not what you meant, was it? :b Haha, venting over here. But yeah, I believe in God, no Santa or anything. Though, I cried when my parents told me there was none of that magical stuff :b (in my defense I was only like 13.. kidding I was like 17.. haha okay obviously I'm not even 17 yet! In all seriousness I was like 30.. :b)
DeleteWhy are stupid random ads popping up all over my blog?!
ReplyDeleteHaha, what?! I didn't notice anything XD
DeleteAds? I don't see any ads . . . *searches page* Nope, no ads!
DeleteAnyways, MIKIKI IS HERE TO ANSWER THE QUESTION!!
Well . . . hm. This is a simple but complex question. Considering I'm not religious at all, I guess any God is out of the question for me, but obviously, believing doesn't just mean God. Not at all!
Believing, to me, is fantasizing. Not that, but dreaming. Without beliefs it's hard. I, myself, have always wondered what kind of view on life I would have if I had been brought up to believe in some kind of 'higher power'. Would I look at things differently? Would nature seem different? Would I believe in destiny? Would I believe in heaven or hell? I don't know. It depends on exactly what I believe in. But not-believing makes you wonder the actual limitations of the world. Whether you're really meant to do something or you're just one in the mass of billions of other lives swarming around you. Whether you'll die and cease to exist, or you'll go somewhere else. It makes you wonder what belief means - does it mean to be faithful or does it mean to dream? Does it mean to be brought up with, or does it mean to actually make a choice to believe?
Of course, that's only one perspective. Religious respective, which automatically popped into my head, because most people 'believe' in religion. I don't know what it's like to have a religion, so I can't really put much into the topic. I would enjoy going further, but it's not really my place to challenge the beliefs of others.
And there's belief in something else. Belief in something you love. Belief of something not scientifically proven - belief in the mysteries of the world, like, for instance, supernatural events. Ghosts are one major thing to believe in. Unicorns and fairies and dragons are another. The Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot are also popular in that category.
But my belief has a sort of reserved place inside me. I don't believe in a God, and I don't really believe in unicorns, but I believe in something that's kind of hard to explain. I believe in writing and the powers of our own imaginations. I belief in scientific discoveries, jumps in technology, and making bizarre theories that could somehow be true and make our world a better place. I believe in ideas that absolutley blow our minds. I believe in becoming someone important, doing something for our world. I don't want to just be part of the world - I want to be my own world. I don't believe in blending in - I think it's healthy to be unique.
Anyways, that's kind of my perspectives on belief. I would list a lot of things I believe in, but the thing is, it might offend others and I don't want to take the chance.
Yeah xD
