Okay, so I want you guys to try to imagine how I am, and I will try to describe random things like my room. Here we go! My room:
I have two huge books on 'the principles of surgery that I have yet to finish/get past the first page (Hey, it's heavy stuff).
The Human Body: A Visual Guide to Human Anatomy--With awesome pictures. It is a great book, but I always avoid the last chapter, The Reproductive System, for reasons that are probably unknown to you. xD Okay, so you probably understand my reluctance.)
a book on poems called Spring Journey--I think it is kind of stupid (she never uses phrases, only words, in her 'poems' which I think are cheap and a five-year-old could do), but I still don't throw it away (I mean, it is a book we are talking about here!)
all of the super old Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew books--I have pretty much outgrown them, but, like I said earlier, they are books! I can't just let them go.
The World's Best Fairytales from Readers Digest which I have a habit of re-reading every night, even if they are horror stories.
a really old edition of The Jungle Books that is like 50 years old (no joke, I counted). It was published in 1962. Correct me if I am wrong.
A Pocket Guide to Insects--I hate bugs by the way. The story is from way back. Let's just say it involved a centipede, my leg, mickey mouse, and ice cream. xD You know, childhood bad experiences. Actually, I don't mind looking at them, but when they start touching me, that's all I can take. xD It is really interesting, just the same.
Writing Magic by Gail Carson Levine--Which has amazing tips. I totally recommend it
The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine--I hated it at first, but after the sixth time reading it, I loved it. xD I've actually read it like eight times by now. I can totally relate to princess Addie, and that is why I hated the ending.
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine--And if you've seen the movie, pfttt!!! That is what I say. I have it, and it doesn't even compare! Favorite book, right here! I love it! Read it over fourteen times, (having to buy a new one because this one has been through everything) and it still thrills me every time. It is kind of a romance, but not really. I mean, it has some, but it is nothing like Twilight. It doesn't focus on it, it just has a reasonable amount. I mean, she is human, after all. And it is not like she is twelve, so I don't really mind much. Actually, it is so tasteful (Not over the top or gushy, just down to earth, regular) that I even enjoy it. It adds color. But you would have to read it to know. So, go ahead, read it!
(Yes, I DO love Gail Carson Levine's writing style! It is just sooo good. She even re-did some fairytales. Those are in my room, and I love them too, but there are a lot, so I won't list them.)
Tisha--This is actually based on a true story. Anne is a young teacher in the year....1927? and is teaching in Alaska. It is like Ella Enchanted on the romance scale, and she is like 20-something. It is amazing. It looks big, thick, and boring, but it is definitely in my top ten. It deals a lot with prejudice, considering Anne falls in love with a half-breed. (Half White, half Eskimo). I totally recommend this book!
The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry--This is a pretty new model. It is really good, aside from the unexplained goat. Alittle bit romantic, and kind of weird, it was..okay, but not in my top ten. However, Julie Berry does a fantastic job of pulling you in, forcing you to read the book cover-to-cover nonstop, and pull your heart-rate way up! So, yeah.
That's about all of the sample I'll give, but I will say my room is packed with historical fiction novels, brand-new notebooks I have yet to break into, and old. ragged notebooks that I can't believe still hold together, plus lots of loose paper lying around covered in 'sudden inspiration'.
Scattering the room are mugs (fond drinker of herbal teas), an random apple core (I don't even like eating apples off the core, so don't ask me why it is in there), plates covered in crumbs (yeah, I get really busy when writing that I forget to eat, so my mom lets me take food up there, just so I'll eat xD), chocolate wrappers (brainfood xD), clothes everywhere (why bother to fold it when you are just gonna wear it the next day? xD), and garbage bags full of crinkled papers of bad beginnings of stories. In my walk-in closet is a desk (cluttered with old notebooks) , where I am supposed to write, but as of yet I don't have a chair, so my bed has to suffice. Even though I have lots of dishes hanging around in my room, I don't actually eat that much. :P I know, I'm weird! xD But who isn't?
The things I want to add the most to my room are shelves, a huge cork board (I'm gonna put lots of weird things there), and a giant lime green bean bag where I can write my 'sudden inspirations' and devour tons of novel. I also desperately want a working camera so I can post pictures of my evil kitty, Charlie (whom I happen to love to death, despite his evilness xD) Charlie is actually an angel most of the time, but he taunts and tease me a lot. He loves any attention I give him (even dressing him up in my old baby dresses. And I swear, Charlie doesn't even care. If you saw his stupid grin every time I dressed him up, you'd know)
I hope this gives you a little insight into my life. Actually, I am usually really smiley and happy around others, but half of the time I am really depressed about my health. I can't even jump on my trampoline for five minutes before I start coughing and feeling sick. My mom won't let me do anything, and I feel like I am turning into a blob. My muscles are shrinking into nothingness, and I don't like it, not one bit! But the worst thing for me is to see or hear something depressing, so that is why I totally avoid it. So, I write poetry to make me happy. And I write. But I am still a blob. :P
OH MY GOSH, YOU'RE JUST LIKE ME.
ReplyDeleteI seriously have at least ten plates with crumbs on them piled somewhere in my room. And I USED to have clothes on my floor, but I had to clean my room, so I just put all the dirty clothes in the washing machine and then piled all the clean ones on top of my dresser. I have a closet, but that looks like a herd of mini-elephants rampaged through it. So I avoid it entirely, and since I never go in it (it is a walk-in closet, too :D) it stays abandoned. I like it that way.
I have a bean bag chair xD It's not green, however, it's black. It's really funny, because I got it, and my mom put it smack-dab in the middle of my room, and when I walked in, I just walked around it and sat down at my laptop and started to write. I didn't even notice it was there until I walked out again xD
xD Wow. Double wow. And no, I am NOT like you. You are like ME. :P Just kidding. xD
